Gary Sieber Biography
Gary Sieber is an American journalist currently serving as the news personality at WNDU-TV. There’s a lot more to Sieber than meets the eye. He is well known for his Saturday morning weather poetry (“The Weather Could be Verse”), and he has worn many hats in the Michiana community in the last four decades.
From 1985 to 1991, Sieber served as Director of News and Public Affairs at WNDU-TV. In addition, since 1980, Gary has worked at Channel 16. Sieber has supervised the education programs offered through WNDU for the University of Notre Dame since 1991. He still teaches Broadcast Journalism, specializing in news writing, ethics, and journalism law as an Adjunct Professor of Film, Television, and Theatre at the University of Notre Dame.
Moreover, Gary has managed FCC regulatory and First Amendment legal matters for WNDU. From 1992–2003, Sieber supervised the production and writing of the nationally distributed PBS documentary series titled Today’s Life Choices, which accumulated various awards, including a Gabriel and other awards from the prestigious New York Festivals.
Additionally, Gary hosted morning radio news and interview programs on local stations WTRC and 95.3 MNC and was a periodic on-air host for programs airing on WNIT-TV Public Television.
Furthermore, Sieber is the Director of Sales at Welch Packaging, located in Elkhart on the regular Monday-to-Friday workday.

Gary is a 1981 graduate of Notre Dame. He started his college career in physics prior to changing paths and pursuing his media vocation through concentrations in government, history, economics, and literature. Due to this, he has what might be termed an eclectic set of interests, which explains why he likes reporting and interviewing on a wide range of topics, including weather.
Similarly, Gary is a self-affirmed golf nut, having played in different places around the world. He has played at the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Pebble Beach, and in the permafrost north of Fairbanks, Alaska.
