George Balekji is an American journalist currently working as a full-time sports anchor and reporter at WMTV NBC 15, Madison, Wisconsin Area, since August 2019. At NBC 15, he has created and cultivated sports content for the top-rated station in Madison Market; shot, edited, wrote, produced, and anchored for 5, 6, 9, and 10 p.m. newscasts; conducted one-man-band live shots for sports on days when not anchoring; organized and executed social media plans for Badgers, Packers, and high school games across station platforms, as well as connecting with viewers and covering local sports via social media.
Previously before joining WMTV station, he worked at KODE- TV, Joplin, Missouri from January 2017 to August 2019, as a sports anchor and reporter.
