Guy Rawlings Biography
Guy Rawlings is an American Emmy Award-winning journalist who is currently working as a news anchor for WVTM 13 in Birmingham, Alabama. Rawlings joined Hearst Television in December 2015 from CBS 11 KTVT in Dallas where he worked as a sports anchor, reporter, and host.
Guy has also worked as a news anchor in Atlanta, where his parents currently live, and is excited to be back in the Southeast. He is a proud graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications in 1991.
Rawlings started his journalism career as a photojournalist and reporter for WBFF-TV in the year 1993. After working for a year, he moved to WCBD-TV 2 In Charleston, North Carolina to serve as a weekend sports anchor and reporter.
In December 1996, Guy joined WTJV TV as a weekend sports anchor and reporter. After spending barely a year at WTJV, Guy landed greener pastures at WESH TV in Orlando, Florida worked as a sports anchor in January 2007.
Five months later, Guy joined CBS Atlanta as the co-anchor of the evening news at 5&11. In addition, he noted coverage of major sports, including the Masters, March Madness, the Atlanta Falcons, & 2 weekly SEC football shows.
In November 2013, Guy joined CBS 11 KTVT in Dallas, Fort Worth, taking the roles of a sports anchor, reporter, and television host. After 2 years, Rawlings relocated to Birmingham, Alabama after landing his current job as a news anchor for WVTM 13 News.
Guy has developed a passion for community involvement while participating with his fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi. She has also become a devoted member of the Alzheimer’s Association, after losing a grandmother to the debilitating disease. Moreover, Guy enjoys reading to kids.
