Hayley Lewis is an American, model, singer, and sportscaster who is currently working as a Sports Anchor at KSHB-TV (NBC- affiliate) in Kansas City, Missouri. As a model, she was crowned Miss Tennessee on June 22, 2014, at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, Tennessee. In addition, her singing group placed 4th in the world in a Times Square vocal competition. Prior to joining KSHB-TV, she worked at KEZI in Eugene, Oregon as a sports anchor.
A Missouri native, Lewis graduated from Belmont University and interned at WKRN-TV in Nashville, Tennessee. Although she spent most of her collegiate time in Tennessee, she was born and raised in Kansas City. She grew up as a head football coach’s daughter with a brother in DI football. However, she spent most of her life moving from town to the Kansas City Metro area, following her father’s career and learning ins and outs of the business along the way.
In relation to that, her career choice not only connects with her upbringing but allows her to showcase an industry that is a part of her core. Her life has always been centered on sports, but her sports broadcasting career truly began in 2014 when she won the Miss Tennessee title. As Miss Tennessee, she served as the governor’s Official Spokesperson for Character Education. Her tenure as Miss Tennessee included numerous spokesperson roles and TV appearances.
Upon her return to Belmont for her senior year, she paired her sports knowledge with her newfound on-camera skills and took in her career as a sports anchor and reporter. Her job not only allows her a way to speak about one of her favorite interests, but it also allows her to captivate an audience with her positive energy.
