Heather O’Rourke is an American journalist currently working as a traffic anchor at WABC-TV in New York. She began reporting traffic in the tri-state area in 1992. She started as an intern and after a short while, she became a traffic reporter in 1994. O’Rourke joined the Eyewitness News back in 2002 as the afternoon traffic reporter. In addition, she joined the morning family in January 2013.
For her education, Heather joined Rutgers University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Media. She has reported traffic on almost every radio station based in the tri-state area and as well, she has served as the fill-in news anchor for six good years on WPLJ-FM’s morning show.
O’Rourke is a four-time nominee and the 2001 winner of the Achievement in Radio Award for Best Traffic Reporter. Moreover, in 2012, she was awarded The George Hammell Cook Distinguished Alumni Award from Cook College – Rutgers University.
