Ian Eagle is an American well-known sports announcer who is working for NBA, NFL, and college basketball games on CBS, TNT, and TBS. He is also the Brooklyn Nets games for the YES Network and French Open tennis for Tennis Channel. Moreover, Eagle also served as CBS Sports’ play-by-play announcer for the Army-Navy football game since 2002. Throughout his career, Ian has been numerous awarded with various awards such as the 2002 New York Sports Emmy Award and the Bob Coast Award.

Talking about his educational qualification, Ian attended high school at a local school in his hometown. After that, he enrolled himself at Syracuse University’s S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications where he graduated with a degree in 1990. Moreover, he was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. His career began while still at University, where he worked as an announcer for WAER, a student-run radio station.

Thereafter, he moved and joined WFAN Radio in New York City as a producer. Two years later he appeared in his own show called Bagels and Baseball. Besides that, Eagle also appeared in Jets, where he gave pregame and postgame news. A year later, he become a TV announcer for SportsChannel, which later became Fox Sports Net, New York. Furthermore, he also worked as a play-by-play announcer for Jets games in 1997. Later on, Ian joined CBS as an announcer for both NFL and NCAA basketball.

Since then, he has been working for the station, and in 2010 he worked alongside Dan Fouts and become the three broadcast team for CBS’ NFL coverage. In 2002, Eagle joined the YES Network as a Nets announcer as well as worked for MSG Network and Fox Sports Net New York. Three years later, the game was split between the two broadcasters, after Marv Albert joined the YES Network.

On top of this, Ian has also worked for TNT where he was paired up with his YES colleague Mike Fratello.
