Isiah Carey Biography
Isiah Carey is an American television journalist and reporter who has worked for television and radio stations in the Southeast. He was born on October 17, 1970. Carey presently works as a reporter for Houston’s KRIV channel 26. He is the host of Isiah Factor Uncensored which airs Monday through Friday at 10:30 p.m. on KRIV TV and at http://fox26houston.com.
Carey attended McKinley Senior High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he was born. Carey enrolled in the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to study mass communications after graduating from high school. In addition, he attended Southern University in Baton Rouge in 1989 and worked for WXOK radio in Baton Rouge as one of the city’s youngest radio news anchors and reporters before graduating.
By 1990, Isaiah had also worked at KQXL-FM and WYCT-FM as a news director and anchor. He earned his first break in television as a reporter and weekend public affairs talk show host at WVLA-TV (NBC) in the same year (Baton Rouge).
Furthermore, in 1991, Isaiah joined WAFB (Baton Rouge), where he worked as a general assignment reporter and fill-in co-host of a morning news program for four years. Carey has also worked at television stations in Memphis, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C., including KARK-TV, and Channel 4 in Little Rock, Arkansas (BET).
Carey has earned several accolades over his broadcasting career, including an Emmy for live reporting after a plane crash in Little Rock in 1999 and an award from the Society of Professional Journalists in Memphis for investigative reporting in 2000.
