Janine Stanwood is an American journalist currently serving as a general assignment reporter and anchor at WPLG. She joined the station in February of 2004 as an assignment editor. Prior to joining Local 10 News, Stanwood served as the senior legislative correspondent for a United States senator on Capitol Hill. She was on a team that handled health care policy, met with voters, and assisted pass a veterans’ bill into public law.
Though she is not a native of South Florida, Stanwood spent most summers for almost 20 years with her family in Fort Lauderdale. She’s exalted to be inside of the news operation she often watched, from reporting on victims of crime, covering politics in South Florida, and sorting through the breaking news of the night.
