Jay Bir Biography
Jay Bir is an American journalist currently working as a political anchor/reporter for KARK 4 News, FOX 16 News. Bir joined the station back in 2006 as a news and sports photographer. In 2019, he was promoted to political reporter and host of the Sunday morning political program, Capitol View on KARK.
Jay was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and grew up in Sunrise, Florida. In 1998, he moved to Arkansas with his family, where he went to high school at Sylvan Hills. After graduation in 2002, Bir joined Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, where he majored in radio-TV and had a minor in Political Science.
Jay has done substantial sports reporting for the stations since 2007 when he started filling in for the Game of the Week for the Fearless Friday high school football coverage. In addition, in the same year, Bir started anchoring the applauded Fearless Friday Underground web show.
At a young age, Jay recognized that he wouldn’t play sports for a living. He grew up in Florida and was a big sports fan. He, therefore, became a follower of the Miami sports scene. Bir’s favorite teams that he follows include the Miami Dolphins, the Miami Heat, the Florida Panthers, and the Miami Marlins.
Moreover, Jay has been there since the beginning of the Marlins and Panthers. He is really a die-hard fan of sports and wouldn’t delay talking about everything from curling to ice hockey to track and field to the NBA.

In his spare time, Bir likes to watch sports. Similarly, he is a dedicated runner and he participates in the Little Rock Marathon regularly. Jay also loves playing video games. His favorite game is Call of Duty. In addition, Bir loves to interact on Twitter.
