Jay Crawford is an American journalist working as an anchor for WKYC based in Cleveland, Ohio. Previously, he was a host of the Little League World Series and anchored ESPN’s Sports Center. He was also a guest host on NFL Live. He started his journalism career as a sports director for WYMT-TV based in Hazard, Kentucky.
Moreover, he moved to WTIC-TV based in Hartford, Connecticut, where he played the role of a weekend sports anchor. Later, he returned to Ohio where he worked for WBNS-TV based in Columbus. He took part in the launching of Wall to Wall Sports which is a 30-minute sport show that aired to date.
He has also worked as a sports director for WFTS-TV in Tampa, Florida. Here, he was recognized and received various awards including awards for best sportscast, best sports special, and outstanding sports operation. Later on, he joined ESPN in 2013 where he launched his show called Cold Pizza. This show became ESPN’s First Take in 2007.
Furthermore, he was on the sportscaster division to host the midday program. Moreover, he has been awarded three Society of Professional Journalists Best Sports Program Awards. He has also received four regional Emmy awards for the Best Sportscaster award from the Kentucky Associated Press.
