Jentezen Franklin Biography
Jentezen Franklin is an American televangelist, author, and evangelical pastor born in North Carolina, United States. He is the senior pastor of Free Chapel Church, a multi-site church located in Gainesville, Georgia, United States.
In addition, he has authored influential books including; Right People, Right Place, Right Plan; Fasting; Fear Fighters, and The Spirit of Python.
Franklin studied tenor saxophone lessons at the Atlantic Christian College (currently known as Barton College). He attended this school together with his elder brother Richie. However, Franklin left the college after his brother Richie graduated later pursuing the ministry under the guidance of his father. This led him to become an evangelist in the Church of God.
Jentezen was initially posted as the pastor of Free Chapel after Roy Wellborn, the then senior pastor of Free Chapel passed away in 1989.
Frank then opened the second Free Chapel in Irvine, California in 2007. He also proceeded to open a Gwinnett Church in Suwanee, Georgia, the United States in 2014. Two years later, he expanded the Free Chapel to South Carolina in Spartanburg with effect in 2016.
His Ministries host three annual conferences with the main focus on family at large. These conferences are the Forward Student Conference, Divine women’s conference, and One Marriage Conference. All these conferences seek the most inspiring speakers and musical guests of all time.
Each week, his televangelist program Kingdom Connection is broadcast on major networks across the globe including TBN and the church channel. In addition, he is one of the New York Times best-selling authors. Franklin is also an award winner of the Martin Luther King Jr. Mantle of Destiny Award for his struggles on racial reconciliations.
