Jessica Fernanda da Costa Andrade is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist who is currently completing in the women’s Flyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). In 2023, she fought against Yan Xiaonan however she was defeated at UFC 288: Sterling vs. Cejudo. Fernanda was born and raised in Umuarama, Parana, Brazil.
She first attended training in Judo and later enrolled in jiu-jitsu in 2011. While there she competed in her first amateur BJJ, where she panicked and performed an illegal move on her opponent which led her to be disqualified. After that, she furthered her training at Gracie Humaita training center in Umuarama where she fought with Duda Yankovich. Later, Andrade moved to Paraná Vale Tudo training center, where she won eight of her first ten fights in Brazil. In 2013, she joined the UFC team and fought her first match against Liz Carmouche and lost to her in the second round.

Aside from that, she has also fought with several fighters such as Joanne Calderwood, Joanna Jędrzejczyk, Cláudia Gadelha, Tecia Torres, and Rose Namajunas.In 2020, Jessica faced Rose Namajunas at UFC 251 however she was defeated at the end of the match. Following her two consecutive losses at strawweight, she was scheduled to face Katlyn Chookagian in a flyweight bout at UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. The Korean Zombie.
During the match, she defeated Katlyn through a technical knockout in the first round and become the woman in the UFC to win in three different weight divisions. For her performance, she earned herself a Night bonus award before later she faced Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 261. Five months later, she fought against Cynthia Calvillo and become the winner after the fight knockout in the first round. Most recently, Jessica fought with Amanda Lemos in a Strawweight bout and won the fight, which earned her a Night bonus award. This year, she faced Lauren Murphy at UFC 283 and won the fight via unanimous decision. In February 2023, she fought with Erin Blanchfield and was defeated at the end of the second round.
