Joe Moore is a renowned American television personality who is better known as the principal news anchor at KHON-TV in Honolulu, Hawaii, the state’s Fox affiliate and top-rated station. In addition, he is a professional actor and playwright.

Moore grew up in Honolulu and went to Aiea High School for three years. He completed high school at Beavercreek High School in Beavercreek, Ohio, where his dad, a career the United States Air Force officer, was based.

Moreover, he attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he specialized in communication and history. However, after two years, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served for two tours of duty during the Vietnam War with the Army’s 25th Infantry Division in Cu Chi, Vietnam, and also the American Forces Vietnam Network in Saigon with his close friend Pat Sajak.

In addition, Moore came back to Hawaii in 1969. He joined KGMB in 2003, working as a sports anchor under mentor and news director Bob Sevey. Furthermore, Moore wrote and appeared in Prophecy and Honor (2007, co-starring George Segal and Richard Dreyfuss). In 2013 he co-starred with Patty Duke in “Heaven Forbid!”, formed on the BBC series Waiting for God at the Hawaii Theatre. In June 2015, Moore appeared as James Wicker in the first post Broadway production of Terrence McNally’s comedy, It’s Only a Play, also featuring Linda Purl and Cathy Foy, at the Hawaii Theatre.
