Hendricks is an Emmy-designated columnist and a local Oregon who joined the FOX 12 team in July 2016. John began his career in the fall of 2009 in Bend, Oregon, at KTVZ, where he served as a morning producer before becoming a night-time reporter. While in Bend, he covered everything from the devastating blizzards to the rapidly spreading fires.

In June 2014, John moved to Spokane, where he served as a multi-media reporter for KXLY-TV. During his time there, he covered the summers that followed, destroying fiery flashes in focal Washington and a memorable November windstorm that left thousands without electricity for a long time in East Washington.

In 2015 and 2016, John was deemed a multi-media writer by NATAS Northwest with two provincial Emmy picks as a video columnist. In the fall of 2013, John was named Fellow of the RIAS Berlin Commission Trade Program for American Journalists by RTDNF. He went to Berlin, Eurfort, Frankfurt, and Brussels to research news, legislative and cultural issues.
