John Stamos is an American actor and musician who rose to fame playing the role of Blackie Parrish on ABC’s General Hospital. He is also widely recognized for playing the role of a mental health therapist in an ongoing Netflix psychological thriller called You. Stamos’s other famous role is on ABC’s Full House where he played Jesse Kataopolia until 1995. In 2005, he played Dr, Tony Gates on NBC’s medical drama called ER until 2009. John’s other famous roles are in films and TV series like Grandfathered, Never Too Young to Die (1986) and Born to Ride (1991).
Stamos was born and brought up in the suburbs of Cypress, California as the son of a restaurateur. He even grew up flipping burgers with his father during his early years as a 20-year-old adult after the family moved to Orange County. John attended and finished his high school education at John F. Kennedy High School. He then enrolled at Cypress College for the 1981 term. However, he did not show up for his first semester because he decided to pursue a full-time acting career.
Stamos landed his first major role just three weeks after leaving his college admission. He played the role Blackie Parrish in General Hospital from 1982 to 1987. John’s role even won him a Daytime Emmy Award back in 1984. In 1986, he was able to star in sitcoms like You Again? and the famous 1986 short film called Never Too Young to Die. In early 1987, Stamos landed his breakthrough role as Jesse Katsopolis on ABC’s Full House. He appeared on the show until its season’s finale in 1995. From 1996 to 2009, Stamos appeared in numerous TV shows and films like Thieves (2001), Jake in Progress (2005), Wedding Wars (2006), The Andy Milonkis Show and more.
