Jonathan Bernis Biography

Jonathan Bernis is the president and founder of Jewish Voice Ministries International (JVMI). He has been a leader in the Messianic Jewish ministry for more than thirty years. Bernis hosts JVMI’s weekly syndicated television show, Jewish Voice With Jonathan Bernis, which broadcasts worldwide.

JVMI also conducts humanitarian/medical outreaches to some of the most impoverished Jewish communities in the world. This includes regular outreaches in Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, and other points of need around the globe.

Through these missions, JVMI has provided medical, dental, and eye care, while sharing the Gospel message of the Messiah. This has led to its growth with hundreds of thousands of Jewish people and their neighbors.

As a result, dozens of Messianic faithful have formed, and through its Congregational and Leadership Development team, JVMI comes alongside new believers and emerging leaders with discipleship, training, and support.

JVMI also evangelizes through large-scale international Festivals of Jewish Music & Dance. This majorly occurs in Eastern Europe, India, Africa, and South America. Hundreds of thousands have shown up for these festivals, and millions more have participated through television broadcasts.

Many believers have responded to the Gospel message, and more than a dozen new Messianic Jewish congregations have debuted in the former Soviet Union through these outreaches.

Jonathan is anointed as a Messianic Rabbi through the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues.

He is the founding Rabbi of Congregation Shema Yisrael in Rochester, New York, serving as the Senior Messianic Rabbi from 1984 to 1993. He also established and evangelized in the Messianic Center of St. Petersburg, Russia, where he lived and preached from 1993 to 1996.

In 1998, Jonathan was appointed to take up the leadership of the Jewish Voice Broadcasts, a ministry founded by Louis Kaplan. This made the ministry merge with Jonathan’s Hear O’ Israel Ministries to become Jewish Voice Ministries International.

As a Jewish Believer, Jonathan has a passion for fulfilling the call of sharing the Gospel with Jewish people. This is through his personal drive and belief that there is salvation in no one else, and there is no other name on earth than the name of Jesus by which all men are saved (Acts 4:12).

  1. it’s not possible or biblical for Christians to bring peace to Israel so why are you talking like you are the Antichrist? Stop preaching false doctrine.
