Justin Holbrock Biography
Justin Holbrock is an American sports reporter who currently a digital sports reporter at NBC4 since joining the station in October 2019. Before joining NBC4, Justin worked as a sports reporter and anchor at WRBL in Columbus, Georgia for two and a half years.
Justin graduated Summa Cum Laude from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a minor in Political Science.
While still in college, Justin worked as a feature writer for Backdrop Magazine between November 2015 and December 2016. He contributed three feature stories to Backdrop magazine, a campus magazine that produces four issues each school year. For instance, he wrote a cover story on Ohio men’s basketball coach Saul Phillips, and a player profile on Nick Kellogg who played basketball at Ohio University and now plays professionally overseas.
Afterward, he joined WCMH, NBC4 in Columbus, Ohio, as a sports department intern. At that time, Holbrock helped sports reporters with editing videos, writing scripts, and conducting interviews.
Justin also worked at WRBL in Columbus, Georgia as both a multimedia journalist and a sports anchor. He worked at the station until October 2019 when he joined NBC4 as a digital sports reporter.
While working in Columbus, Justin covered Auburn, Georgia, and Alabama athletics. He also had the chance to cover some of the country’s biggest sporting events including the Masters, the 2018 College Football National Championship, the Iron Bowl, the 2018 MLS Cup, and the 2018 SEC Championship.
Holbrock’s most memorable moment in the South came while covering the Auburn basketball team’s historic Final 4 run and the ensuing celebration on campus at Toomer’s Corner.
During his free time, Justin enjoys traveling to new places, watching sports, reading outside, and catching the latest movies.
