K.Flay Biography
Kristine Meredith Flaherty also known as K.Flay, is an American singer, musician, songwriter, and rapper. She is famous for her debut album which she released in 2014 and became second on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. In her career, Meredith has been awarded many awards including Best Rock Song and Best Engineered Album.
Flaherty was born and brought up in Wilmette, Illinois, United States. She received her education at New Trier High School and later enrolled at Stanford University majoring in psychology and sociology. Soon after college, K. Flay began her career by writing, performing, and recording her songs on her computer. In 2005, she released a mixtape titled Suburban Rap Queen and later released her EP titled Single and Famous. Four years later, K.Flay released her self-titled extended play, and a year later, she self-released the mixtape I Stopped Caring in ’96. After releasing her mixtape she was later signed with RCA Records.
While there she released her EP Eyes Shut and the single What If It Is. Between 2014 to 2015, Kristine released her first album Life as a Dog, which reached No.4 on the Billboard Rap Albums chart. Later it rose and became No.2 and thereafter she became touring with Awolnation. With her group, she toured in countries like Germany, France, and other European countries.
Aside from that, Kristine has also collaborated with Louis the Child on their song “It’s Strange”. In 2016, she became the first artist signed to Dan Reynolds’ Night Street Records imprint. She also released her sophomore album, Every Where Is Somewhere, which yielded the Grammy-nominated single “Blood in the Cut.” Before that, K.Flay worked on her third studio album and released a lyric video for its first single, “Bad Vibes” For her third album which was titled Don’t Judge a Song by Its Cover.
As of 2021, Meredith released her fifth EP track called Inside Voices. That same year she released her single “TGIF” featuring Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine on guitar. Besides that, Kristine also started going live streaming on Twitch. In the following years, K.Flay released her fourth studio album Inside Voices / Outside Voices. Recently, she released her song called “It’s Been So Long”. Moreover, she has collaborated with popular celebrity singles like Tom Morello and Travis Barker.
