Kamalani Dung is an American softball pitcher, model, and actress rumored to be the wife and girlfriend of a famous American baseball pitcher named Shohei Ohtani who currently plays for the Los Angeles of Major League Baseball (MLB). Dung currently plays as a professional right-handed softball pitcher who pitches for the Puerto Rican national softball team and the Athletes Unlimited Softball League. She also holds a gold medal for her incredible skills and she is now ranked as the first professional pitcher from Hawaii.
Dung was born to a mixed Puerto Rican and Chinese family living in Wlanae, Hawaii. She grew up as a very active kid who liked watching differnet games with her parents and siblings. Kamalani attended Kamehameha School where she began playing competitive softball at the age of 10. She also followed youtube videos to perfect her throw pitches because she is a self-taught pitcher. Dung then went on to become a four-year varsity star and captain of her high school’s baseball team. Her most famous career height is achieving 86 strikeouts, seven shoutouts, and an 11-1 record in her senior year in high school.
After high school, Kamalani enrolled at Fresno State to study business administration. She also made her debut as a D1 collegiate athlete n the NCAA on October 22, 2015, against USSAA Pride. Dung then transferred to the University of California where she majored n Sociology.
Despite playing various matches as a pitcher throughout her college years, Dung began her career professionally in 2020 by being signed in the National Pro Fast Pitch for California Commotion and Atlethes Unlimited softball Leagues in Chicago. In 2018, she played semi-professionally for the City of Juncos in the Puerto Rican Higher League competition. This prompted the Puro Roco Women’s National Softball Team to accept Dung after her tryouts the same year. She was able to record the best school for the team during the 2018 US International Cup, Central American and Caribbean Games, and more. Dung now plays for the Atletes Unlimted Professional Sports League in the United States.
