Kate Beirness is a Canadian television sportscaster who is currently working as a host for SportsCenter on TSN. Prior to this, she worked on other shows like A Barries and Roger TV First Local. She even founded her Mark summit which is an annual one-day event based on empowering Canadian female leaders of the next generation.
She attended and graduated from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. While there, she majored in journalism. She also received an honorary doctorate degree from the same school.
During her first year hosting SportsCenter, she often worked with Bryan Mudryk on the weekend Sportscenter. She continued to do so through much of 2013. In October 2013, she and new-host Darren Dutchyshen took over the late-night and morning loop spots on TSN. The pair had worked together during Jennifer Hedger’s maternity leave in 2011.
She currently hosts the CFL on TSN’s Thursday Night Football coverage. Beirness also hosts TNT’s NCAA March Madness coverage. Prior to joining TSN, she worked for Rogers TV as a sports reporter. She founded and hosts the Her Mark Summit, an annual one-day event aimed at empowering the next generation of Canadian female leaders.
