Katie Couric Biography
Katie Couric is an American journalist, presenter, and author, best known as the co-host of ”Today” and is also the first woman to anchor ”CBS Evening News” alone. Anne is the founder of Katie Couric Media, a multimedia news and production company. Between 2013 and 2017, she was Yahoo’s Global News Anchor having worked as a television host at all the Big Three television networks in the United States.
Katherine began her career as an Assignment Editor for CNN. She later joined NBC News from 1989 to 2006, then CBS News from 2006 to 2011, and later worked for ABC News from 2011 to 2014.
Couric went to school at Arlington Public Schools: Jamestown Elementary, Williamsburg Middle School, and Yorktown High School. In high school, Katie worked as an intern at WAVA. Moreover, she was a Delta Delta Delta sorority sister while at the University of Virginia in 1975. She graduated in 1979 with a degree in American Studies.
Katie started working at several networks at a daily newspaper titled ”The Cavalier Daily”. Moreover, she began her career at the ABC network as an assistant. Couric then went to work for NBC as a co-anchor of ”Today”. Katie worked at NBC News from 1989 to 2006. Before appearing on “Today” she began filling in as a weekend anchor on NBC Nightly News in 1989.

She became the host of the ABC talk show titled Katie in 2012. Katie has served as a global news anchor for Yahoo since 2014. Couric also worked as an editor-in-chief of assignments for CNN.
Couric has published several books like ”The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons from Extraordinary Lives”. The book became a New York Times bestseller. In addition, she has received an Associated Press Award and several Emmy Awards. She was also awarded the Television Hall of Fame.
