Katie Orth is an American journalist currently serving as an anchor at FOX31 2 News in Denver. She co-anchors “Daybreak” weekdays from 4:30 – 9:00 am on Channel 2. Previously, Katie worked as a primary evening anchor and reporter at KMIS, in Texas.
Orth was born in Austin. However, at a tender age, she moved with her family to Houston. Katie joined Texas A&M where she received a degree in Communication and Journalism.
Before joining KWGN, Katie worked for KMID, the Nexstar Media Inc. television station in Midland, Texas. Since 2017, she worked as the primary evening anchor and reporter at the station. She also worked as a morning anchor and reporter for KIDY in San Angelo, Texas.
During her time at KMID, Katie covered big stories including President Trump’s tour of West Texas oil fields where she secured an exclusive one-on-one interview. Moreover, she covered the Odessa, Texas crowd shooting and Hurricane Harvey.
