Kayla Baggerly is an American journalist currently working as a reporter at ABC4 Utah. She has been writing ever since she could pick up a pen and this passion later helped her discover her love for journalism. She comes to ABC4 in 2019 from Good Things where she was an intern. Baggerly is excited to be sharing important stories about Utah, her home state.
In relation to her education, Baggerly graduated from Utah Valley University with a degree in communication, emphasizing journalism and minoring in digital media. Beyond her studies, she also danced for the UVU Ballroom Dance Company. Furthermore, she was also part of the UVU Review.
Some of her proudest accomplishments include serving as editor-in-chief, starting the local-music-focused podcast Valley Vibes, earning an SPJ award for her “Latter-day LGBTQ+” series, and creating a dedicated broadcast section in the newsroom. Kayla interned for Utah Valley Magazine and worked as a Presidential Intern for the Office of Inclusion.
When off her duties, she loves reading, playing piano, hunting for vinyl records, or spending time with her dog.
