Keith Sweat is a famous American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is well-known for his super hit collection which includes “Make It Last Forever”, “I Want Her”, “I’ll Give All My Love to You”, “Make You Sweat”, “Get Up on It”, “Twisted” and “Nobody”. Sweat is also the host of a nationally syndicated radio show called The Sweat Hotel. Moreover, he has already released 13 solo albums as part of the R&B supergroup LSG.

Keith was born and brought up in New York City, United States. After high school, Keith enrolled at New York City University, where he graduated with a degree in communications. Shortly afterward, he was hired and worked as a brokerage assistant in a Wall Street firm. His musical career began in 1975 when he joined the Harlem band called Jamilah. With the help of his group, he was able to acquire the skill and experience, which enabled him to become a lead singer.

Later, he left the band and began singing at nightclubs throughout New York City. After that, he record his song under the independent label, Stadium Records which are “Lucky Seven”, and “My Mind Is Made Up”. In addition to that, Sweat is also credited as co-writer and co-producer of “You Are the One for Me”, the last recording ever made by the group GQ. Additionally, he also signed a contract with his label, Vintertainment Records, which was founded in 1983.

In 1987, Sweat released his first solo debut album called Make It Last Forever, which sold three million copies and become the biggest hit ever. The song that was loved the most was “I Want Her”, which was nominated for the Best R&B/Urban Contemporary Song of the Year award. Following his success with the first album, he later released his second album called I’ll Give All My Love to You, which peaked at No.6 on the Billboard 200 chart. Prior to that, Keith also released his third album, Keep It Comin’ in 1991, which reached the Top 20 of the album chart.

Apart from that, Sweat also appeared in the debut album titled Lose Control, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Later after, he also released his single called “Freak Me” which reached No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100. On top of that, he also collaborated with the Atlanta-based female R&B group Kut Klose. After that, he produced the group’s debut album Surrender, which become the biggest hit single “I Like”, peaking at No. 8 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. Keith also continued to gain popularity throughout his work. In 1994, he released his fourth album named Get Up on It, followed by the single Nobody.

The first two albums recorded with Gerald LeVert and Johnny Gill billed as LSG, were considered successful. later, he also produced a handful of prominent ’90s acts, such as Silk, Kut Klose, and Dru Hill. In 2002, Sweat released his eighth album, Rebirth, and Just Me which comprised a single like “Love U Better”. On the other hand, he is the host of a nationally syndicated radio program called The Sweat Hotel, based on the Quiet Storm format.
