Kelly Rippin Biography
Kelly Rippin is an American journalist who is best known for being the former anchor of the WZTV Fox 17 Morning News program in Nashville, Tennessee. Currently, she is working as the morning anchor of WLWT Channel 5’s News in Cincinnati, Ohio.
After graduating from Butler Catholic School for her elementary education, Rippin enrolled at Butler Senior High School in 2005. Later on, she graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a double major in Public Relations and Broadcast Journalism. During her college days, she was actively involved with the non-profit charity organization Penn Dance Marathon.
Most notably, her career began during her studies when she anchored for the Center County Report. In mid-2007, she joined WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, where she completed one portion of her internship. After her tenure there, she interned in New York City, between April and December 2008.
On the other hand, her professional broadcasting career officially began n 2011, in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Here, she joined the crew of WBOT-TV, and later the next year she served at the station as a weekend anchor and reporter.
However, in August 2012, she relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she joined FOX19 WXIX. Two years later, her real career breakthrough happened when she was she received a position at WZTV Fox 17 Morning News as a reporter in October 2014. However, In November 2017, she left FOX 17.
She later moved to Orlando, Florida, in January of 2018 and joined the WISH 2 News crew. However, it was announced that in June 2019, Kelly would be leaving the station and transferring to WLWT in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was would join Randi Rico and Colin Mayfield in Channel 5’s weekday broadcasts.
