Kevin Paul Dupont is an American sports journalist who was born on January 11, 1953. Dupont has worked for the New York Times, Boston Herald, and Boston Globe over his career. In 2002, while working for the Boston Globe, Kevin received the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Kevin was employed as a sportswriter for the Boston Herald American in 1977, where he covered the Boston Red Sox. In addition, in 1979, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, which he served until 1980. He subsequently left the Boston Herald American for the New York Times, where he worked until 1985 as a hockey reporter covering the New York Islanders, New York Rangers, and New Jersey Devils. Dupont was hired full-time as a beat writer by The Boston Globe as a result of his successful journalism career with the Times.
The Hockey Hall of Fame presented Dupont with the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award in 2002.
