Kim Quintero Biography
Kim Quintero is an American meteorologist and weather presenter currently working at KTVK 3TV. She joined KTVK 3TV Arizona’s team in February 2013. She can be seen on weekends on “Good Morning, Arizona!” from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., forecasting fun events and businesses around the Valley. Moreover, she can be spotted on weekdays on weather, traffic, and reporting for both CBS 5 and 3TV.
Quintero was born and raised in Fresno, California, but considers Arizona her true home. Before tracking the monsoon, flash floods, dust storms, snowstorms, and wildfires of Arizona, she was in Greenville, South Carolina for some years. While there, she reported from the Carolina coastline as Superstorm Sandy and some other hurricanes moved through. During the destruction of the EF 2 tornado, she covered the story whereby, homes and 10 people were injured in North Carolina. In addition, Quintero tracked and forecasted almost everything Mother Nature could dish out, from large hail, freezing rain, and their legendary humid, “air you can wear” summers.
As well, prior to coming to the Southeast, Kim resided in the Pacific Northwest and served at a TV station in Eugene, Oregon for 2 years. While there, she reported and forecasted for the Cascades, Willamette Valley, and the Oregon Coast.
Quintero has won multiple Associated Press honors, including Best Investigative Reporting in Oregon for an in-depth investigation on whether government institutions were equipped to respond to enormous destruction caused by a big earthquake. She recently won two NATAS Emmy Awards in Arizona for her work on AZ Family’s yearly monsoon programs.

After receiving a BA in Mass Communication and Journalism from Fresno State University, Quintero began her career at a TV station in her hometown. Later on, she went on to complete the Geosciences Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University.
