Lauren Johnson Biography
Lauren Johnson is an American Emmy-nominated journalist who served as the news anchor of weekend editions of “Good Day Philadelphia” as well as a reporter during the week. Prior to joining Fox 29, Lauren worked as a weekend anchor for “Good Day Orlando” on WOFL Fox 35, the Fox affiliate in Orlando, Florida.
Lauren attended Woodland Academy for her high school education between 1996 and 1999. Immediately after her high school graduation, Lauren joined Furman University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies.
In 2001, Lauren interned at ABC News while still attending Furman University. She worked under producer leadership for both Good Morning America and 20/20.
Lauren started her television career at Central Florida News 13 in 2003. In her job as a reporter, Johnson also worked behind the camera to investigate and catch well-known attractions around the state in a program called “Florida on a Thankful”.
After spending four years at News 13, Lauren moved to the greater Memphis Area in February June 2007 and joined WHBQ FOX13 News as a news reporter, After working for the station for almost four years as a reporter, Lauren was promoted to serve as the station’s weekday AM anchor and also a fill-in anchor.
In August 2012, Lauren joined Fox 35 Orlando WOFL-Tv as an anchor and reporter. She anchored the weekend morning newscasts and filled in for other newscasts as needed.
After spending two years at Fox 35 News, Lauren moved to Philadelphia and joined Fox 29 as an anchor and reporter. Ms. Johnson anchored and produced Good Day Philadelphia weekend Saturday and Sunday morning newscasts, at 7-9 a.m. In April 2021, Lauren left Fox 29
