Lauren Kummer is an American journalist currently serving as an anchor/reporter at FOX 17 News. She joined the station in September of 2020. Prior to joining the FOX 17 News team, Kummer worked in central Nebraska as a weekend anchor and news reporter for NTV News and KFXL Fox Nebraska.
While at Nebraska, Lauren recognized a liking to Nebraska football and grew to enjoy telling agriculture stories.
Kummer was born and raised in LaSalle, Ontario, Canada, and comes from a family of six. While in high school, Lauren became interested in the news and began telling stories. She anchored the morning announcements, where she found a passion for informing other students about current events, important details, and other students’ accomplishments.
Thereafter, Kummer joined Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. Kummer graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and a minor in French. In addition, she also studied abroad in Paris and traveled around Europe while she was there.
In her spare time, Kummer likes to explore “her backyard” by trying new foods and activities, as well as visiting places around West Michigan. Moreover, she loves wine, musicals, boating, traveling, and country music.
