Lauren Lake is an American family lawyer, author, interior designer, real estate developer, background singer, legal/relationship/life consultant, guest host, and talk show presenter. Lake has guest-hosted and news anchored positions for various talk shows and reality legal programs.

In her guest hosting, Lauren tackled controversial racial, ethnic, gender, and political issues head-on. She was the host of HGTV’s how-to-series Spice Up My Kitchen. Elsewhere, Lake presided as an arbitration judge over her own tabloid talk/nontraditional courtroom series, Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court. The series ran 7 seasons.

Lauren will son return to courtroom programming, taking over the revival of We the People in her own edition We the People with Judge Lauren Lake. The series will make a comeback in the fall of 2022, produced by Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios.

Lake graduated from Mercy High School in Farmington Hills, Michigan in 1986. At the institution, she was named a National Merit Scholar. Lauren then joined the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in May 1990. Lauren serves as the Executive producer and judge of the Emmy award-winning nationally syndicated daytime legal show, Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court. She has also guest-hosted and news anchored in various talk shows and reality legal programs.

Lake relocated to New York City in 1999 to start her career as an entertainer. She started singing backgrounds for multi-platinum selling artists, such as Mary J. Blige, Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, among others.

In the long run, Lauren started writing and recording her own music and performing throughout the New York metropolitan area. She was later chosen out of thousands of women to appear on the series On To Live and Date in New York. The series chronicled the dating lives of independent and single New York women. Within a short time, it developed a wide local following, making the Women’s Entertainment Channel air it nationally as “Single in the City.”

Lauren worked as a correspondent, expert, and life coach for The Greg Behrendt Show, where she helped navigate through dating dilemmas, career changes, and domestic disputes. On The Ricki Lake show, Lauren served as the legal and relationship expert and life coach.

Lake pursued her interior designer passion in the entertainment industry where she participated in TLC shows such as While You Were Out and Trading Spaces. Between May 2007 and 2009, Lauren hosted 47 episodes of HGTV’s hit how-to show Spice Up My Kitchen. She majored in turning ordinary kitchens into kitchens of style.

Lauren made regular guest appearances on Dr. Phil and The View as a legal expert. She also made other television appearances including The Today Show, The O’Reilly Factor, The Bill Cunningham Show, Regis & Kelly, Montel Williams, and The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet. Lake has also guest featured as a guest host/anchor and legal analyst for MSNBC and TryTV. She has been a regular on-air commentator for various news programs on CNN, Headline News, Fox News Channel, and CNBC since 2005.

Lauren is also the co-founder of the Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network (WEEN). The network is determined to promote the positive portrayal of women in entertainment and society through nationwide mentoring and outreach programs for young women.
