Leila Rahimi Biography
Leila Rahimi is an American journalist who is currently working as a sports anchor and reporter at WSCR in Chicago. He also works part-time as an anchor on WMAQ-TV. After high school, she interned with Dallas Mavericks announcers Wally Lynn and Mike Fisher. In 2002, Rahimi graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Texas with a degree in journalism.
She also worked as an anchor and reporter with KTCK-AM Sports Radio in Dallas from 2001 to 2005. After departing the station in 2005 she went to work as a sports anchor and reporter at KXII-TV (CBS affiliate) in Sherman, Texas 2006.
In 2007, she accepted a position at KXAN-TV (NBC affiliate) in Austin, Texas. She worked here for some time before moving to San Diego to work for Fox Sports San Diego where she served as the field reporter for the San Diego Parades. Rahimi then returned to Texas, working at Comcast SportsNet Houston as an anchor, reporter, and sideline reporter for the Houston Astros.
She worked for two years in Philadelphia as an anchor and reporter for Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia. In October 2015, she was hired as the anchor for NBC Sports Chicago, where she, as of the 2019-2020 season, serves as the sideline reporter for Chicago Bulls broadcasts.
Rahimi was laid off from NBC Sports Chicago as part of company-wide cutbacks at NBCUniversal in August 2020. In January 2021, she was announced as a partner to Dan Bernstein on a new mid-day show dubbed “Bernstein and Rahimi.
After a year, she was laid off from NBC Sports Chicago and returned to NBCUniversal in November as a part-time sports anchor and reporter for NBC-owned station WMAQ-TV. Currently, she is co-hosting mid-days on WSCR in Chicago with Dan Bernstein and works as a part-time anchor on WMAQ-TV.
