Leticia Juarez is an American journalist who presently serves as a general assignment reporter for ABC7 Eyewitness News in the Inland Empire. She joined the station in 2010.
Juarez attended Cajon High School and grew up in San Bernardino. In addition, Leticia graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in international political science with a concentration in business.
Leticia kicked off her career as an intern at a Palmdale cable station before moving up to general assignment reporter. She covered the kidnapping of two Antelope Valley teenagers, which prompted the state to issue its first Amber Alert. She joined KMIR-TV in Palm Springs as a producer/general assignment reporter in 2003.
During her time, Juarez covered the California wildfires, which forced her family to flee their home. She kicked off her career as a general assignment reporter at KERO-TV in Bakersfield in 2005.
Moreover, Leticia moved from California to Houston, Texas in 2007 to work as a morning reporter for KHOU-TV. She covered Hurricane Ike when it battered Bayou City in September 2008. She covered the hunt for the missing and recovery activities in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike.
In 2009, she began working for KIAH-TV. For her series “First Eyes on the Black Tide,” Juarez won a Lone Star Emmy Award for her reporting from Louisiana on the Gulf oil spill.
Juarez is thrilled to return to California and report from her birthplace. She enjoys traveling, preparing her mother’s enchiladas, and dining out with her spouse at new restaurants.
