Liberte Chan is an American meteorologist, reporter, blogger, and certified yoga teacher. She serves as a Meteorologist and Reporter at KTLA Channel 5 in Los Angeles.
Liberte enrolled at Marlborough School for Girls. In 2011 she graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She graduated with an er Master’s degree in MPH, Public Health, Communication Track from the University of Southern California, a private research university in Los Angeles, California in 2005. Chan earned her certificate in meteorology from Mississippi State University in August 2015.
Liberté Chan started her career in journalism by joining up with the CW-associated news station KTLA in 2013. She was a news writer for the channel for the better part of three years before she left. Liberté next served with KCOY-TV and KKFX, both channels associated with CBS and Fox respectively.
Liberté was a reporter for a two-year span from 2006 – 2008. After she left KCOY-TV/KKFX, the call of journalism landed Liberté on KMIR 6News station. From 2008 to 2010, she was a morning reporter for the station. Liberté put her writing and meteorology skills to good use when she joined KTLA station in 2010.
As of 2019, she also works as a weathercaster, news reporter, and meteorologist. There is a belief amongst fans that she runs her own clothing line. However, that has not yet been confirmed.
Additionally, Liberte grew up as a competitive figure skater and was originally ranked in both singles and pairs. Moreover, she runs the blog Life of Liberte, where she talks about fashion, beauty, travel, fitness, and animals.
