Lisa grew up in Gardendale and attended the University of Alabama. She worked at WVTM 13 as an Associate Producer and Weekend Reporter while still in college. However, she relocated to the great Northwest after graduation. Later on, Lisa pursued a Bachelor of Communications degree in 1990 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
