Liz Cho Biography
Liz Cho is an American journalist who is currently working as a news anchor at WABC-TV in New York City. Cho co-anchored the weekday 4 and 6 p.m. editions of Eyewitness News.
Since joining Channel 7 in 2013, Liz has anchored coverage of such history-making events as the Royal Wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton, the funeral of President Ronald Reagan, Republican and Democratic National Conventions, and various major news events in the Tri-State area
Liz grew up in Concord, Massachusetts, and attended Boston University, majoring in journalism and history. She started her journalism career as an assignment reporter at New England Cable News in Newton, Massachusetts, the United States.
Her next move landed her a job at WPLG-TV in Miami, Florida before moving to ABC News as a Chicago-based correspondent for ABC NewsOne, the network’s affiliate news service. Later on, Liz co-anchored ABC’s overnight news program, World News Now, with Derek McGinty. At the same time, she worked as a correspondent and fill-in anchor for Good Morning America.
On July 6, 2003, Liz joined WABC-TV to replace Diana Williams at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. In 2011, she started anchoring the station’s new “First at 4:00” newscast, with David Novarro, filling the hour left vacant by the departure of The Oprah Winfrey Show. She continued to anchor the 6 p.m. broadcasts with Bill Ritter.
