Lucy Owen also known as Lucy Jane Cohen is a well-known Welsh television journalist. Currently, she works as a presenter for BBC One Wales’ flagship news program Wales Today, and at X-Ray network alongside her husband Rhodri Owen. Lucy is also an Ambassador for Noah’s Ark Appeal, which raises money for the Children’s Hospital for Wales.
Jane was born and raised in Llandaff, Cardiff, Wales. She completed her high school education at Howell’s School in Llandaff, Cardiff. After that, she enrolled at Royal Holloway, University of London where she graduated with a degree in English. Shortly after University, she was hired as a researcher for BBC Radio Wales before becoming a reporter and co-presenter on the network.
Later, she moved and joined HTV Wales as a co-host for Wales Tonight before heading to ITV Wales. There Luch worked as a news anchor and a presenter. In addition, she also hosts news shows such as the Evening News, Weekend News, and Lunchtime News. In 2007, she replaced the long-standing presenter Sara Edwards and become a news program for BBC Wales Today.
Moreover, Jane also worked as a member team of the BAFTA award-winning X-Ray alongside her husband. Since she joined X-Ray she has been working with Rachel Treadway-Williams and comedian Omar Hamdi. In 2012, she was one of the eight members who was selected to take part in the week learning Welsh on a campsite in Pembrokeshire in the series cariad@iaith:love4language shown. In addition, she also appeared in films like The Page Turner and Mayfly.
