Maika Monroe is an American actress and professional kiteboarder who is famous for headlining the horror film It Follows in 2014. The film won her several accolades, including an Empire Award nomination, and has since been deemed an Empire Award nomination.
When she was 17 years old she left Santa Barbara, for Cabarete in the Dominican Republic completed her senior where she subsequently completed her senior year of high school online. Her main purpose there was to continue training in kiting.
Maika made her film acting debut with the drama film At Any Price in 2012. She went on to get roles in many films including the drama film Labor Day, Independence Day: Resurgence, Hot Summer Nights, After Everything, and Villans.
In 2016, she co-starred in the invasion thriller film The 5th Wave and co-starred in Independence Day: Resurgeneceplaying first Daughter Patricia Whitmore. She has won numerous awards and nominations throughout her career. Maika won Home Media Magazine Awards, Hamptons International Film Festival Award, Fright Meter Awards, and iHorror Awards among others.
