She joined the station as a multi-media journalist and reporter in January 2018. For their internship, she went to work for ABC 12 News in Flint as a weekend morning producer.
Additionally, she was offered a reporter position at WLNS TV 6 based in Lansing, Michigan. There, she served as a part-time reporter and producer and later a weekend morning anchor. For three years, she was in Lansing covering a voice to the underprivileged and followed political news affecting the entire state. She covered a story about an apartment complex left in a legal limbo where low-income tenants were sleeping in the parking lot rather than in their bug-ridden unit.
Due to this story, she earned the Associated Press and Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Moreover, she also made a report on the Lansing School District and helped spark a Title IX investigation by the Department of Education after two young female pupils were suspended after their sexual assaults on the principal. Mariah worked at WLNS as the 6News This Morning Reporter and weekend anchor before she joined Fox 13. She also worked at News Central 34 as a multi-media journalist.
In addition, she attended The Roeper School and later Central Michigan University. In 2009, she graduated with a bachelor of science degree in broadcast and cinematic arts, French, and Spanish.
