Mariel Ruiz is an American Certified Broadcast Meteorologist who currently works at KVUE Media Group. She joined KUVE in 2019 and has been working there as a morning meteorologist. Most notably, she got her designation given to her by the American Meteorological Society.
Ruiz received her Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Texas A & M University. While at the university, she was active in Texas Aggie Broadcasting and was a member of the Texas Aggie Storm Chasers. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society. Previously, she has presented research at the annual conference and has also participated in a panel to speak to upcoming broadcast meteorology students.
With so much interest in communications of all kinds, Ruzi is fluent in Spanish and often uses social media to share needed weather information. Additionally, she has been active with several organizations.
