Mark Followill Biography
Mark Followill is a play-by-play announcer for Fox Sports covering basketball, soccer, and football. He joined the Fox Sports team in 2014 and has since been part of the Fox Sports soccer team as a play-by-play announcer for Major League Soccer, United States Men’s and Women’s National team games, Concacaf Gold Cup, UEFA Europa League, 2016 Copa America Centenario, Bundesliga, and FIFA U-20 and U-17 World Cups.
Followill graduated from Northwest High School in Justin, Texas. He then joined the University of North Texas but left to pursue his broadcasting career.
Most recently, Mark was part of the world-class broadcast team covering the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He also served as a play-by-play announcer for the brand’s college football telecasts since 2012.
In addition to his soccer work, Followill has been the Dallas Mavericks’ television play-by-play voice since 2005, calling games on FOX Sports Southwest and TXA 21. During that time, Followill has won many regional Emmys for On-Camera Talent/Sports Play-by-Play, and the Mavericks broadcast has won multiple regional Emmys for Live Sporting Event.
Followill was the Mavericks’ radio play-by-play announcer on 103.3 ESPN Radio from 2001 to 2005. He previously worked for 570 KLIF as a studio host for Mavericks radio broadcasts as well as a play-by-play announcer on select broadcasts for two years. He also provided play-by-play commentary for NBC’s coverage of the 2016 Summer Olympics in men’s and women’s soccer.
Mark worked as a play-by-play announcer for college basketball and volleyball broadcasts on The Longhorn Network, NFL and NCAA football broadcasts on Sports USA Radio Network, and NBA and WNBA games on ESPN Radio. He has also been a regular contributor to the renowned Dallas radio station KTCK, Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket.
