Matthew Herchik is an American award-winning journalist currently working as a multimedia journalist at WCMH-TV, NBC4 in Columbus. Before joining NBC4, worked as the New Bern Bureau Chief and Weekend Evening Anchor at WITN-TV in North Carolina.
Herchik attended Bishop Watterson High School and Ohio University in Athens, Ohio where he always had a passion for working in sports. At the University, he majored in Sports Management and Business and obtained experience through working with various Bobcat athletic teams throughout his four years course.
Upon his graduation, Matt worked for the Columbus Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Pirates. He also maintained his own blog, EurOhio Sports, comparing stories and headlines in European soccer to those in major American sports.
Shortly after, Herchik spent time writing for FantasyFootballMetrics.com forecasting and predicting fantasy football scoring outputs for players coming off of injuries.
