Matthew McClellan is an American journalist currently working as a weekend morning anchor for Fox 13 News, reporting live for Good Day Tampa during the week. McClellan moved to Tampa Bay in 2019 after spending two years working in Indianapolis where he served as a weekend evening anchor for WRTV-TV while reporting weekdays from the field.
Matthew received a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcasting from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. In 2014, McClellan won a Florida Associated Press Award for his reports on the deaths of dozens of boys at Florida’s Dozier reform school.
McClellan also worked at WRIC-TV in Richmond, Virginia, where he was a reporter and fill-in anchor developing high-impact reports for broadcast and online. Matthew reported the widespread deconstruction of Hurricane Matthew and the extensive coverage of the 2016presidential election, including the selection of former Richmond mayor Tim Kaine as the vice presidential nominee.
Prior to WRIC, Matthew served as a weekend evening anchor for WTVY-TV in Dothan, Alabama. He loves running, live music, and cooking.
