Matthias Schoenaerts is a Belgian actor who rose to fame in 2008 after starring as Filip in Loft and in the film Rust and Bone. For his performance in Rust and Bone, he earned the César Award for Most Promising Actor. Also, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in Deans. On top of that, he is a native of Antwerp, Flanders, Belgium.

His professional career began at the age of 9 years when he was cast in Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s film The Little Prince opposite his father.
