Maureen Maher is a famous American Television personality taking both the roles of a news reporter and news correspondent ATA CBS News. Currently, she serves both roles in the American documentary/news magazine television show, 48 Hours Mystery.

Maureen was given up for adoption by her biological parents when she was very young. Her parents, then high school sweethearts had an early pregnancy making them unable to raise her. She joined Loyola University later graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications in 1991.

Maureen began her telecast career with a Chicago- based WLUW radio as a morning drive news anchor in the year 1991. She then moved to Detroit in 1992 working as a reporter for WJBK-TV, a Detroit-based TV station, and WWJ radio up until 1995.

Between 1995-1997, Maher worked for WJRT-TV in Michigan as a news anchor covering breaking news, including the Oklahoma City bombing and the Decker farm raid. Later in the period from 1997-2002, she was a Chicago-based CBS News correspondent covering notable topics including the Bill Clinton Impeachment.

She then relocated to Dallas working as a CBS News Correspondent from 1999-2002. She reported for the CBS Evening News on the War on Terror, the fall of the Taliban in Afghanistan, and the 2002 Kenyan hotel bombing, among many others.

Maher further reported on the murder of Scott Peterson and a 2003 Chicago Porch Collapse which led to 13 deaths. In 2003, she was assigned as the official host of the 48 Hours Mystery, a CBS true-crime documentary and news program telecast.
