Maya Elaine Higa is an American conservationist, falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, and Twitch streamer. She is the founder of Alveus Sanctuary, a non-profit exotic animal sanctuary and virtual education center based in Austin, Texas. Prior to this, Elaine has over 250,000 followers on her Instagram account.
Elaine was born and brought up in California, United States. She attended California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education and communication in June 2020. Maya started her own career by streaming her Twitch account in 2019. The channel showcases various activities such as music, and falconry, and spreads conservation awareness. Her account started growing after a falconry video of her juvenile red-tailed hawk named Bean went viral on Reddit. Higa also rose to fame on her 21st birthday when she holds a charity stream for a local homeless coalition.
