Melissa Andrews Biography
Melissa Andrews is an American Emmy-Award-winning journalist who is currently working as a main News Anchor and reporter for WTOL 11 Your Morning since August 2012. Prior to this, she served both at LIN Television and Disney ABC Television Group as a reporter as well as an anchor.
She attended and graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism. While there, she produced, reported, and anchored for her college station, as well as PBS.
Andrews moved to Toledo in 2007 for an Anchor and reporter position at the ABC affiliate and to be closer to her family in Cleveland. Initially, she jumped into the community and met her husband who is from Berkey. Since then, she has been home and they have welcomed three children.
Most notably, she was no stranger to Toledo before moving there. She spent her first two years of college at the University of Toledo as a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Prior to coming to Toledo, she was an Anchor and Reporter in Terre Haute.
Andrews dedicates most of her time to community organizations, including Susan G. Komen Northwest Ohio, Ronald McDonald House Charities, American Heart Association, Down’s Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo, and many others.
When off her duties, she can be seen on a soccer field, a Sylvania basketball game, volunteering in her kids’ classroom, or running to the grocery store. In addition, she says that “Chose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life!”
