Michael Lozano is an American journalist currently working as a news reporter for WTVD ABC 11 News. Lozano was born in Austin, Texas but grew up in Garland, Texas.
Michael’s dad was a photojournalist in Dallas for 23 years. Watching his dad head out to breaking news stories such as severe weather, historical events like presidential inaugurations, and catastrophic events like 9/11, and Katrina gave him a wealth of stories growing up.
However, he never recognized how much he appreciated the art of storytelling until he took a leap of faith and chose to pursue a journalism degree. He joined the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, where he graduated in May 2017 and headed west. There, Michael worked in Odessa, Texas as a reporter/weekend anchor at BIg 2 News for two years.
Although Lozano has made his way over to the east coast, he is not afraid to show his Dallas pride. Michael is an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and an overall fan of every North Texas sports team: Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, FC Dallas, and the Dallas Stars.
When Michael is not working out of Fayetteville, North Carolina, he is probably at the nearest movie theatre catching the latest film or playing anything close to a sport. He is also an enthusiastic comic book collector.
