Mike Drolet Biography
Mike Drolet is a Canadian journalist who is currently working as a Toronto correspondent for Global National. For the last 12 years, he has worked in newsrooms across southern Ontario and Quebec. He has covered floods and fires in the province, Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath in New Orleans, and Canadian soldiers on the front lines in Afghanistan.
Talking about his education, he attended and graduated from the University of Western Ontario, and decided to move to Wingham where his career started. He then moved to Windsor, Montreal, and now Toronto. Mike has reported on natural disasters including the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. One of the best highlights in his career was when he covered the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
Most recently, he was on the scene when Canadians expressed shock at the unprecedented attack on Parliament in Ottawa. The attack left two people dead. In addition, he followed the story to Hamilton to cover the funeral and cross-province procession. When off his duties, he loves snowboarding, hockey, and traveling.
