Mike Everett Biography
Mike Everett is an American meteorologist currently working at KINGS 5 Media Group in Seattle, Washington since joining in October of 2021. Previously, he served as a chief meteorologist at KMIR and KPSE, the NBC affiliate for Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley of California. In addition, he was chief meteorologist at NBC Palm Springs from September 2017 to October 2021.
Everett has firsthand knowledge of hurricanes, tropical storms, extreme thunderstorms with tornadoes, torrential rains, devastating hail, blizzards, and vicious winds. He is a friendly and engaging presenter from Western Canada who has traveled and lived all over the world. Additionally, he has worked with stations in Florida, Colorado, California, and, most recently, Seattle, Washington.
Regarding his schooling, Mike graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting. Later on, he enrolled at Mississippi State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Meteorology. He also went to Eastern Florida State College to pursue an Associate in Arts in Radio, Television, and Digital Communications.
Everett is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He is the vice-chair of the board of directors for the Brevard Division of the Children’s Home Society of Florida. He also teaches meteorology courses at California State University, San Bernardino.
