Mitch Carr is an American journalist currently working as the weekend anchor, reporter, and multi-skilled journalist at 12 News since February 2019. He joined 12 News from WRAL, the NBC affiliate in Raleigh, North Carolina where he worked as a freelance reporter.
Mitch graduated in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish at the University of Miami. He then relocated to Mexico City and Vina del Mar, Chile to further his studies.
After his graduation, Carr started his career as a freelance reporter at WRAL NBC affiliate in Raleigh, North Carolina, before joining 12 News. At the station, Mitch covered the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. Earlier, he worked for the sports Director at WRIC, the ABC affiliate in Richmond, Virginia for exactly 4 years.
He also served as a general assignment news reporter at WGHP. the FOX affiliate in High Point, North Carolina, and KLAS, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, Nevada, working as a morning news reporter. This was after starting his career as a general assignment reporter at KLBK, the CBS affiliate in Lubbock, Texas.
When not working, Mitch loves exploring Arizona’s natural beauty and eating tacos. You can easily spot him in hikes, attractions, or taco shops to suggest.
